There is so many debates among Christians on the Law (Torah), some say we are under the Law (Torah), others say we are not. We will let scripture speak for us, for God’s Word will always tell us the truth. Keep this in mind, this is God’s word speaking, it will not be mine. I will not argue over the Commandments with anyone. When we fight and argue over God’s word, it will not serve any purpose except to open the door to Satan!

How many times has he appeared as an angel of light? “For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.” (2 Corinthians 13-14) This is why we need the full armor of God to ward off the attacks of Satan and his angels.

“So Jesus answered them and said, My teaching is not Mine, but His who sent Me. If anyone is willing to do His will, he will know of the teaching, whether it is of God or whether I speak from Myself.” ( John 7:16-17) “Jesus said to them, My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me to accomplish His work.” (John 4:34) “I can do nothing on My own initiative. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.” (John 5:30) “For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.” (John 6:38)

Yeshua was very clear when He said, what I teach is from my Father. Yeshua kept all of the Torah after all He is the Word of God. Here is the question I would ask, as a Gentile should we keep all of the Law/Torah? To answer this question we must understand the teachings of the Messiah, since He brought us the Word’s of His Father.

“But in vain do They Worship Me, Teaching as Doctrines the precepts of men.” (Matthew 15:9) I want you to think about what Yeshua was refering to here. We know this was on hand washing and breaking traditions of the elders. (Matthew 15:1-2) “Why do you youselves trasgress the commandment of God for the sake of your traditions?” (Matthew 15:3) These verses has nothing to do with keeping God’s commandments. Yeshua was refering to the teachings of the elders only. As we go through the New Testament one can see how Yeshua continues to refer back to the teachings of His Father.

We should never be too quick to judge the Jewish people, we are no better off in the Christian Church. We have made so many of our own Man Made Doctorines. We also have lost truth of God’s Word through the centuries. I would like to add the ancient Rabbi’s have a lot to say about Messiah. I have read some beautiful statements about the Messiah in their writings during Yeshua’s time, also what happened in the temple after Yeshua died. Remember this, God put blinders over their eyes for their rebellion, for rejecting Yeshua and the word of God. What will God do to us as believers when we reject the truth of His word?

Not all Jewish tradition is wrong just as not all traditions in the Church is wrong. Tradition should never replace God’s word it will then become traditions of men. God never cursed the whole nation of Israel, there was many Jewish people who excepted their Jewish Messiah and were zealous for the word of God. When we say God cursed the whole nation of Israel, and now the Church has replaced Israel. That is a lie staight from the pit of hell!

We need to look at what John and Yeshua had to say. “But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for baptism, he said to them, you brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?” (Matthew 3:7) “You serpents, you brood of vipers, how will you escape the sentence of hell?” (Matthew 23:33) Do you see now why Yeshua and John spoke as they did to these two groups. For they taught their own doctrines, putting the people under heavy burdens, which they could not keep. That is man’s downfall even today; we cannot stand on truth, and take God’s word for what it says.

“And someone came to Him and said, Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may obtain eternal life? And He said to him, Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One Who is good; if you wish to enter life, keep the commandments. Then he said to Him, Which ones? And Jesus said, You shall not commit murder; You shall not commit adultery; You shall not steal; You shall not bear false Witness; Honor your Father and Mother; and You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 19:16-19) Yeshua just told us if you want eternal life then keep My Father’s commandments. Who do you follow Yeshua or man made traditions?

“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law? And He said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 22:36-40) First of all Yeshua is not telling us to keep only these two commandments. On these two commandments stands the whole Law.

When we read in the Old Testament such as Leviticus 19:18; we get a full understanding on what Jesus was saying. “Jesus answered, The foremost is, Hear, O Israel! The Lord our God is one Lord.” (Mark 12:29) This is referring to the Shema in Deuteronomy 6:4-6; Hear, O Iseael! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one!”

When I hear a Pastor or a Christian say we no longer need the Old Testament. Because we now have the New Testament and the Old Testament has been done away with. I ask where do you find that in scripture? Since Jesus taught the gospel from the Old Testament and He has not fulfilled all of the Old Testament. How then can you say it is now done away with?

When we read (Zechariah 14:4) we know all of the Old Testament prophecies have not been fulfilled. “In that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which is in front of Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be split in its middle from east to west by a very large valley, so that half of the mountain will move toward the north and the other half toward the south.” Also in Isaiah chapters 65 and 66 we have the new heavens and the new earth. Since we know this is a last day prophecy it cannot be fulfilled yet.

Since we have no new heavens and no new earth, how can you say the Old Testament has been done away with? So many have done the same thing with God’s commandments. We pick and choose what we want to believe never really understanding the full word of God. Remember the Old Testament is the New Testament consealed and the New Testament is the Old Testament revealed. “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.” (John 14:15) “If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.” (John 15:10)

Now we will look at what Yeshua said; “Salvation is from the Jews.” (John 4:22) What did Yeshua mean by this statment? Salvation could not come without Yeshua, since He was Jewish and from the tribe of Judah.Without the nation of Israel there would be no Salvation. Without Israel we would not have the Old or New Testaments. If Yeshua had not brought the New Covenant, there would not be any Salvation for Jew or Gentile. Yeshua is the fullness of the Old Testament, and the completion of the New Tesament. For There Is No Salvation Without Yeshua. He came the first time as a lamb. He will return as a lion, with the wrath of God. “And one of the elders said to me, Stop weeping; behold, the lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome so as to open the book and its seven seals.”(Revelation 5:5) “From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty.” (Revelation 19:15)

So many Pastors and Christians, say they do not understand Revelation, with all the symbols used. I believe this is due from not understanding the Old Testament.

I love my brothers and sisters in the Church, as I do my Jewish brothers and sisters. I would not be doing my job that God has given me if I did not tell you the truth.

Here are the words of Jesus;”I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be with you.”

Now a true believer who has a deep faith that cannot be shaken, a love beyond measure for Yeshua, and His Father, a hunger for God’s word and truth, will receive help through this Helper, the Holy Spirit. I will say here if you are just a believer without Faith, Love and hunger for God’s word then you should take a second look at you salvation, more than likely you do not have the the Spirit of Truth. “Therefore the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith.” (Galatians 3:24)

Now we must ask the question. What is Paul talking about? First of all we see the Law (Torah) as our teacher, to bring us to Yeshua. In Hebrew, Law (Torah) is instruction on how to walk and live according to God’s word. Without the Law (Torah) how would we know what sin is? Without the Law (Torah) how would we find salvation in Yeshua? “Jesus answered and said to him, If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent me.” (John 14:23-24) We know from all the scriptures we have studied so far, these are not just Yeshua’s words, they are also the words of the one who sent Him. That should be a warning to all Christians when you say we no longer need the Old Testament and Yeshua replaced the God of the Old Testament. So now we are no longer under the Law (Torah).

I know this will make a lot of Christians mad, thats ok. I would rather have you upset with me than to stand before God for not telling the truth. Hopefully you will finish reading this page, I could be telling the truth. Would you want to miss God’s truth because you got mad?

Hopefully you will act as a believer would, and try to prove me wrong. Now we will continue with the writings of Paul, who I might add was from the Tribe of Benjamin. Granted Paul’s writings are hard to understand at times. (2 Peter 3:16) Paul’s letters can never take away from Yeshua’s words. Was Paul sent by God to be your salvation? Paul did not come and make a new religion for Gentiles.

We will listen to what Paul said about himself. I am a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city, educated under Gamaliel, strictly according to the law of our fathers, being zealous for God just as you all are today.” (Acts 22:3) What did Paul just tell us? We know he was a Hebrew, he grew up in Jerusalem, studied under Rabbi Gamaliel, and was zealous for God. Paul also tells us he is a Pharisee. (Acts 26:5; Philippians 3:5) This would have been a good time for Paul to stand up and say, we are no longer under the Law (Torah). Paul would never have said that. He was born a Jew, and died as a Jew, just as Yeshua did. When you follow Paul through his writings, you see he never changed who he was. He loved the Torah just as Yeshua did. He always went to the Jewish people first, even though he was an Apostle to the Gentiles. The Church needs to put Yeshua and Paul back into who they really were. They were both Jewish who walked, talked, and acted like any other Jewish man.

The Christianity we have today is not what Yeshua or Paul taught. You cannot take him and make him into a Gentile. Christians need to understand our faith is Jewish, our Messiah is Jewish. The Church has been built upon antisemitism against the Jewish people. I often wonder what Paul would have thought about what has been done to his writings within the Church. “When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him having forgiven us all our transgression, having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.” (Colossians 2:13-14) “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us – for it is written, Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.” (Galatians 3:13) What did Yeshua redeem us from on the cross? Yeshua redeemed us from the curse of the Law, which would have been death. “For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall, by abolishing in His flesh the entity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinance, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace.” (Ephesians 2:14-15)

What did Paul just say here? When you take the two, Jew and Gentile, and make them into one new man. Again I say do Jews stop being Jewish, No, just as Gentiles do not become Jews, they stay Gentiles. As God said, in Genesis 2:24; when the man and woman come together, they become one. We know man does not become a woman, and the woman does not become a man. So when Jew and Gentile come together as one, they still stay Jew and Gentile. Now they are one new man in the Messiah. “Where then is boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith. For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law. Or is God the God of Jews only? Is He not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, since indeed God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith is one. Do we then nullify the Law through faith May it never be! On the contrary, we establish the Law.” (Romans 3:27-31) “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the Law of sin and of death. For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did; sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace.” (Romans 8:2-5)

If you are walking in the flesh, you are also hostile toward God, these scriptures will not mean anything to you. Remember those who walk in the flesh can never please God. You should read all of these scriptures Paul and John have alot to say on the commandments of Yeshua.

“By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His Commandments. The one who says, I have come to know Him, and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.” (1John 2:3-4) “By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and observe His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome.” (1 John 5:2-3) And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it”. (2 John 1:6)

“So the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went off to make war with the rest of her children, who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus.” (Revelation 12:17)

“Here is the perserverance of the saints who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus.” (Revelation 14:12)

“Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the immoral persons and the murderers and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying. I Jesus have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the churches. I am the root and the decendant of David, the bright morning star.” (Revelation 22:14-16)

Do I believe we are saved just by God’s commandments, No, the scriptures tell us just keeping God’s commandments will not save us. The scriptures also tells us, if you break one commandment, you have broken them all. Do I believe we should follow the commandments Yeshua taught. Yes! I walk in the Law (Torah) of the Messiah never on the teachings of man.

What Jesus taught was straight from the Old Testament. He not only quoted them, He also gave the full meaning of these Commandments. “On these two commandments depend the the whole Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 22:40)

What is Jesus saying here? If you keep these two, which is to love God with all your heart, soul and mind, and love your neighbor as yourself. Around these two commandments stands the whole Law. If you keep these two, you have fulfilled all of God’s commandments.

When you have Love for God and Love For Your Neighbor, As Jesus said, You will then be able to keep all of God’s commandments. I do not see how Christians can say this is legalism. This is how I see salvation and the Law (Torah) which is the commandments of God. Yeshua was with God in the beginning, even before the creation of the world. We also know Yeshua created all things, Yeshua is the word of God, in other words he was the walking Torah, while here on earth. In scripture when God spoke, many times he would speak in past tense, even when speaking in the future. Why, because God knows the future, as well as the past. God’s redemption plan was set in time, even before creation. So now we take Salvation in Yeshua, Commandments of God, a Love beyond measure, repentance of sin, faith in the spirit, one who walks not in the flesh, but in the spirit. Now Yeshua takes us back to His Father. God now sees us without sin and walking in His love and commandments. When we do not try to make God’s word say what we think it should say, we find God’s word lines up perfectly, truth will always show truth.

Again this is why we have so much false doctrine today, we do not let God speak for Himself. May His Word always Stand True.

So far we have seen Yeshua who came to teach us God’s commandments. As you go through my articles I will have alot more to say on Yeshua on the commandments within the Old and New Testament. Remember this is the path I walked on to find God’s truth.

As true believers we should want to know the real Yeshua.
